I just wanted to make note that I transferred this website, LunarStudio, and another blog over to MediaTemple over the course of the last two days. There’s been a significant increase in performance and speed — I think over 300% in the case of LunarStudio. It’s a bit of a nail-biting experience when it comes to transferring databases, but thankfully MediaTemple was there with their excellent phone support to help walk me through some of their systems.

I did encounter one issue with Lunarlog’s database import and the relatively new phenomenal plugin called W3 Total Cache as it keeps spitting out errors and wants to point to a now defunct directory on the old server. I’m hoping in time that Frederick Townes, the CTO of Mashable and W3TC author can help me pinpoint where this incorrect query is getting pulled from. He seems very helpful (and obviously knowledgeable.) Keep in mind, this is no fault of w3TC but rather the import/export of my older database. In the meantime, I’ve managed to get around W3TC by enabling a few other WP plugins in its place.

I’ll be sure write more about speeding up your website and WordPress when I have more time later.

P.S. — Please let me know if you encounter any issues with this site due to the move (or otherwise.) Thanks!
